The PA postcode is one of the most varied in the UK. At its eastern end are Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone and Erskine, part of the Glasgow conurbation, with the airport, industrial estates, retail parks and new housing beside the M8. Along the Clyde, Port Glasgow, Greenock and Gourock have a long shipbuilding and port history, and ferries cross to Dunoon. Beyond that the area opens out into Argyll and Bute, with Oban, Inveraray, Lochgilphead and Campbeltown on the mainland and Rothesay on Bute and Tobermory on Mull reached by ferry.

In Argyll and on the islands, travel times and ferry timetables make same-day cover unrealistic, so bookings need advance planning. Every officer holds the SIA licence for the role and is screened to BS 7858, and the client app provides GPS clock-in, check-calls and a live log.
Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone and Erskine are the most practical towns for us to cover, using officers who live locally and the wider Glasgow network. Greenock and Port Glasgow along the Clyde are also realistic for planned shifts. Oban involves a long drive, and Rothesay and the other island communities depend on ferry crossings. For those, the control room will discuss timing, travel and whether a short series of visits makes more sense than continuous cover, and will confirm availability before you book.
