The FK area sits at the narrow waist of central Scotland, where the M9, M80 and M876 converge between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Grangemouth has a large port and a long-established petrochemical and industrial complex, with associated haulage and storage yards around it. Falkirk has retail parks, industrial estates and well-known visitor attractions on the canal network, while Stirling combines a historic castle and old town with a university campus and business parks near the motorway. Clackmannanshire towns such as Alloa, Tillicoultry and Alva have their own industrial heritage and retail centres, and Callander and Doune lead into the Trossachs, where tourism matters most.
We are straightforward about the position here: fewer than five officers in our partner network live in the FK area, and no work has been completed in it through the platform yet. Cover is arranged by sourcing officers from neighbouring areas, chiefly Glasgow, Edinburgh and Lanarkshire, all within reasonable reach on the motorway network. Stirling, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane are reached via the M9. Alloa, Tillicoultry, Alva and Dollar are covered along the A907 and A91. Callander and Doune are more rural and further out, so the control room will check travel and confirm availability before accepting a booking there.
