Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
This statement sets out the steps taken by Urgent Guard, a trading brand of Aberdeen Technologies Ltd (company number 16865401), to understand and minimise the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. It is made in the spirit of section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We have zero tolerance for slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking.
1. Our business
We provide SIA-licensed manned guarding, mobile patrols, keyholding and alarm response, event security and related services across the United Kingdom, supported by our own workforce technology. Our people are central to our service, so fair and lawful treatment of workers is fundamental to how we operate.
2. Our people and vetting
- Every officer holds a valid SIA licence and is screened to BS 7858, the British Standard for security screening.
- We carry out right-to-work checks on all workers and verify identity documents before any assignment.
- We pay lawful wages, keep accurate records of hours worked through GPS clock-in, and do not withhold identity documents or wages.
- We do not charge workers unlawful recruitment fees.
3. Supply chain due diligence
Where we engage subcontractors or suppliers, we expect them to uphold the same standards and to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and all applicable employment and licensing law. We reserve the right to review labour practices and to end relationships where we identify a serious risk of exploitation.
4. Risk and training
We assess modern-slavery risk as part of our onboarding and supplier selection, with particular attention to labour providers. Managers are made aware of the indicators of modern slavery and how to escalate concerns.
5. Reporting concerns
Anyone with a concern about modern slavery connected to our business can report it in confidence to hello@urgentguard.co.uk or by calling 0800 471 4792. Concerns can be raised without fear of reprisal. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 999, or the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700.
6. Review
We review this statement annually and update it to reflect changes in our business, workforce and supply chain.
