Yes, SIA-licensed guards can be arranged in west Cornwall, but our network has very few officers living in the TR area, so cover comes from the wider South West and is confirmed by the control room before you book.
TR is the far western end of mainland Britain. It covers the cathedral city of Truro, the docks and university campuses at Falmouth and Penryn, the former mining towns of Camborne and Redruth, holiday and surfing centres such as Newquay and St Ives, and Penzance and Newlyn at the end of the A30. Truro is Cornwall's main retail and administrative centre and home to the county's main hospital. Tourism is highly seasonal, with caravan parks, holiday lets and beach venues busiest from Easter to September. Falmouth's docks and the harbours at Newlyn and Hayle support marine and fishing work, and construction, from housing estates to regeneration schemes, is spread across the area. The Isles of Scilly also fall within the TR postcode.
Being honest about this matters: our network has very few officers based in west Cornwall and no established work here yet. Cover is arranged from the wider network, which may mean an officer driving down the A30 from further east, and the control room confirms availability, travel and start time before you commit. Planned contracts are far easier to fill than urgent call-outs, and the Isles of Scilly can only be considered on request given ferry and flight logistics. When cover is in place, the officer holds the SIA licence the role needs, is screened to BS 7858, and works through the client app with GPS clock-in, welfare checks and photo incident reports.
TR cover is planned by the control room from our wider partner network rather than a local team. Truro, Redruth, Camborne and Falmouth are the most practical to reach because of the A30 and A39. Newquay and St Columb Major sit close to the A30 as well, while Penzance, Newlyn, St Ives and St Just-in-Penwith involve the longest journeys in the area. Helston and Porthleven on the Lizard side need similar planning. The control room will tell you who can attend, how far they are travelling and whether multi-day cover can be rostered sensibly.
