The DT area covers most of west and north Dorset, from the county town of Dorchester to the coast at Weymouth and Lyme Regis. The shoreline is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, so tourism, holiday parks and seasonal businesses are a big part of local life, with demand peaking in summer. Portland has a working port and Weymouth a harbour and seafront. Inland, the area is largely agricultural, with market towns such as Bridport, Beaminster, Sturminster Newton and Blandford Forum, and Blandford also has a military camp nearby. Sherborne is known for its schools and abbey. Construction work tends to come from new housing on town edges and the steady regeneration of older town-centre buildings.

We have not yet completed booked work here, so each request is arranged through the network and confirmed by the control room before it goes ahead. Officers sent into Dorset hold the SIA licence matching their duties and are screened to the BS 7858 standard. Clients can follow every shift in the app through GPS clock-in, welfare check-calls, a live occurrence log and incident reports with photos.
Dorchester, Weymouth and Chickerell form the most practical core for cover, linked by the A354. Bridport and Lyme Regis lie to the west along the A35, Sherborne and Stalbridge to the north via the A352, and Blandford Forum and Sturminster Newton to the north-east. Because the area is rural and the number of local officers is small, the control room checks availability and travel before confirming each booking, and may draw officers from the Bournemouth and Poole side of the network.
