Bradford built its wealth on wool, and the BD area still carries that history in its large stone mills and warehouses, many now offices, flats or empty buildings waiting for a new use. The city centre has the university, retail streets and ongoing regeneration, while the Aire Valley follows the A650 and the railway out through Shipley, Bingley and Keighley towards Skipton. Cleckheaton sits near the M62 with manufacturing and logistics units. North of Skipton, Settle and Grassington are Yorkshire Dales market towns where the work is more likely to be quarries, farms and visitor businesses.
